I Support Gatwick Expansion Campaign

 

 

Dear Member,

You will probably be aware, Gatwick Airport, co members, has made it’s submission to the Davies Commission for a second runway at the Airport.  If you haven’t seen it yet, you can see that on the following link:

You’ll also be aware that as an organisation, we fully support the second runway. There will be a vocal anti-expansion campaign so it is vital that we express our support.

Further to my article in the latest Chamber Newsletter, to that end we given our support to a new microsite arranged by Rosemary French of the Gatwick Diamond Initiative, to allow businesses and the local representative organisations to express their support.  The site is going to be called www.ISupportGatwickExpansion.com and it is likely to be launched in the next few days.

As you will be able to see from the microsite, Sussex Enterprise, Surrey Chambers, our Chamber, the FSB and Burgess Hill Business Parks Association have all given their organisational support.  It is a balanced site, with links to where anyone can find alternative views.

The main purpose of the site is to give the local business community to opportunity to log on and register its support – if you do support this, please do so, the more support we can demonstrate, the better. I’m sure the results will be presented to the Davies Commission, but don’t let that deter you from making any appropriate comments directly to the Commission as well.
