New funding pot for small businesses in Crawley
Small grants are available from Crawley Borough Council for Crawley small businesses thinking about expanding or taking on apprentices. From start-ups to businesses with fewer than 50 employees there is an opportunity for some support from Crawley Borough Council.
- Apprenticeship grants for local small businesses to offset the costs of hiring and training apprentices
- Grants for small business start-up, available to encourage Crawley residents to set up their own enterprises, by helping them meet business set up costs
- Grants to help existing small businesses to grow. For example, this could help a business to pay to access relevant training modules such as business planning, employment law and recruitment, marketing, finance.
Funding of up to £2,000 is available for small business grants, where 50 per cent match funding is required. The maximum apprenticeship grant is £1,500.
Councillor Peter Smith, Cabinet member for Planning and Economic Development at Crawley Borough Council, said: “This new scheme can provide a fantastic way to support small business growth and encourage apprenticeships in Crawley, as part of our Employment and Skills Plan.
“The small grants would provide vital funding to enable residents to put their business ideas into action, encourage small and micro businesses take on apprentices and help existing small businesses to grow.”
